Shannon Locker is a Philadelphia based freelance photographer, teacher, writer and ultramarathoner. She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts/Photography with a minor in Women’s Studies from Kutztown University. Post-college she worked as a studio manager and assistant photographer under the tutelage of master photographer Todd Trice.
In 2014 Shannon won first place in PDN’s “Faces Contest” and had her work featured in articles in USA Today’s Guide to Kids Health, Dog Fancy Magazine as well as on a variety of online publications.
Since 2006 Shannon has partnered with the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) for an ongoing shelter animal photography project. In 2008 three images from this series were included in a group exhibition titled “Likeable Art” featured at City Hall.
In recent years Shannon had the unique opportunity to extensively travel the United States managing and photographing various promotions for clients such as Mercedes Benz, Rimmel and Old Navy.
Shannon resides in South Philadelphia with her 2 daughters and their cat Ernie.
